The monsoons in Gokarna beginning from July are probably the worst weather to visit the place. Gokarna receives a considerable amount of rainfall. Although the temperature falls by few degrees and weather becomes a bit pleasant, the heavy rains and winds provide for minimal comfort and are not at all ideal for all the activities one can experience in this place. The generally calm, cold waters too act up and rise a storm making them risky and unreliable for swimming and other water sports. Rain lovers can visit Gokarna in the monsoon season to take advantage of off-season benefits. The months of June to August can therefore safely be called the offseason when it comes to Gokarna and should be avoided if you wish to experience the real beauty of this seaside town.

Summers in Gokarna are extremely hot, humid and may even slightly dim the overall charm of the place. The average temperatures during March, April and May, can be anywhere between 38 to 45 degree Celsius. Although the bright sun may bring several to the boasted beaches, it is not wise to venture out without a heavy dose of sunscreen and water to stay hydrated. However, if these precautions are taken, Gokarna can still be pleasant in these not so pleasant weathers as the place has some or the other activity for everyone and can be immensely enjoyable both as a tourist destination and a pilgrims spot.
