These Northern Cities in India Are Hitting Below Minus Degrees

As reported by the Weatherman for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, places such as Leh, Jammu, Kashmir, Gulmarg and Kargil have recently witnessed sub-zero night temperatures. While Leh region recorded a temperature of minus 6.3 degrees Celsius, Gulmarg and Kargil observed minus 3.8 degrees and minus 1.3 degrees Celsius respectively. Further, Jammu and Kashmir saw a slight increase in temperatures after it dropped by several degrees over the past few days.

Further, Srinagar’s maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded to be 12.4 degrees Celsius and 4.9 degrees Celsius, which is slightly different from the seasonal average for the city. As per Weather Officials’ reports, Katra, a prominent Hindu shrine, observed maximum and minimum temperatures of 21.5 degrees Celsius and 11.6 degrees Celsius. Snowfall was also witnessed in high altitude areas of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh with light to moderate rain showers in the plains region between November 21 to 23.

With such low temperatures recorded at significant parts of the two Union Territories, Weather Officials are expecting showers or snowfall at most of the places on November 27.
