The view from the cliff is absolutely amazing, and the walk all along the cliff is great as well. We spent a lot of doing just that - and taking breaks at multiple beaches along the way.

This is an amazing museum with some brilliant exhibits. The curation of the museum is simply outstanding, specially in the dinosaur and mammals section, where you get to see many recollected bones of (Read More)huge creatures. Great place to spend time on a rainy day, or after a walk in the Hyde Park.

We went to Bheemeshwari in Nov 2018, and were quite disappointed, but that could be because we had wrong expectations. So setting things straight. :) This is a very popular place for the locals nearby (Read More), and on the holidays, a lot of people come here with families to have a picnic by the riverside. Which means that it's quite crowded. Most people also litter a lot, which means you will, unfortunately, see a lot of plastic etc lying around everywhere near the river. We ultimately found a nice-ish spot after walking for 15 mins away from the crowd, but then there were a LOT of monkeys here, all around us, threatening to take our food. We had to be extremely careful and vigilant with our food etc.

Sangam is beautifully picturesque specially during winters, when the weather is nice. You can rent a boat and ask the guy to row you around the Sangam area - that's a great experience. It's not as dir (Read More)ty as what many people think it would be, so you can even go take a dip in the holy waters.

Q. I'm planning a quick getaway to Alleppey for a weekend. How much cost can I expect if I stay in a house boat?

It mainly depends on how many of you are going and what kind of houseboat you're looking for. Also, prices are different for the route and trip you want. Some are one night and one day and some are l (Read More)onger. There are three types of boats you could choose from, the budget class (which starts at 7k and goes up to 16k), the deluxe class (8k-18k) and the first class (12k-24k). In these, the first two have the options of AC or non AC, the first class has AC only. All three meals are also included. (These rates are for one bed room houseboats which are for two people)
